Geosense is an app that helps you make “sense” of your location!

This app is super useful and will help you find out where you are, where you’re going and how to get there.

All you have to do is enter in the address or coordinates and watch this program go to work. It’ll tell you how far it is from you, how to get there, and display some important information that you need to know about that location including parish or county information, DMS, Decimal Degrees, Country, etc.

This program directly integrates with Bing Maps, so you can always click on the information tab and see detailed map information right in the app, as well as share all information you find to yourself or a friend via email or SMS.

In a nutshell, Geosense combines everything we love about geolocation services and map apps. It gives Windows 7 and Windows 10 UAP-enabled devices a smarter sensor that improves location data down to the last foot.

It’s important to point out that it doesn’t work so great on systems that use wired adapters; this is definitely a piece of software that works best with wireless! It can also be a little iffy in reporting exact location coordinates, so you’ll always want to double check before you trust the app.

You’ll also want to keep in mind that the development on this app ceased in 2011, so it’s not going to be as up to date as Google Maps and Bing are today. Many UAP, iOS and Android devices use much more sophisticated location sensing than this provided, so always check against native GPS before you trust the results of the app.

If you have an older device or phone Geosense could help you make your device smarter, even if it’s using older GPS or no sensors at all. Just know that the app itself may not always be the most reliable and many newer devices (iOS devices produced in the last three years, Android devices running Ice Cream Sandwich and above) will have better sensing technology already built in.
